The Wellington Wonders Group
We've done this a few times now, and it's been fun every time. The innovation this time round is night golf! Those sculptures take on very different tones in the night. Spooky! With the option to meet in Brooklyn beforehand for a bite to eat, this is a fine Friday night out.
This is one of our city's iconic views. We'll enjoy it in both directions, with a cafe stop and a bit of a wander round Eastbourne in the middle. Ferry leaves at 12.30 sharp, so be at the dock at 12.15!
Adventure Wellington (another meetup group) is organising their biggest event so far and has 20 spots reserved for members of The Wellington Wonders Group!
The Amazing Adventure Wellington Race (postponed from December because of inclement weather) is a unique experience during which each team (randomly selected) will compete in a massive all-day event all over Wellington (and beyond)!
The Big Meetup BBQ will be a perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meeting new people and tasting great BBQ food. This BBQ will be held immediately after the Amazing Adventure Wellington Race. If you are not already signed up for the race itself, arrive early so you can cheer all the Amazing Race contestants as the teams pass the finish line by 5pm!
$23 a person for two games. Lots of fun at the Lanes. No need to be good at bowling none of the rest of us are! Come along and see if you can top 100.
Quiz starts at 7.00 pm. We'll be there from 6.15 pm, reserving table(s). Max on a team is 8, so we usually have two teams for a friendly competition. This is a fun way to spend a couple of hours after work, having a drink and a bit of food with friends while testing the team's collective knowledge of current events, sport, pop culture, history, and more.
So they show films on a big screen in The Dell, which is just off the Rose Garden. We'll meet at the big iron gates on Glenmore St, at 7.45 pm. This is a fun night out, watching a movie under the slowly darkening sky. Bring something to sit on (blanket or foldup chair) and, of course, layers.
This is a great museum that traces the history of our fair city from the present day back to settlement days, through three floors of exhibits, interactive panels, and movies. We'll meet by the big red boxes outside, wander round the museum for awhile, then finish off with some fine Wellington coffee at a nearby cafe.
Those are just some of the fun events planned for this year. Keep an eye on the Calendar for more.
This group is set up so that anyone can post a Meetup idea at any time and anyone can be an Event Host. For more, click here.
