The tennis court lights operate from a photo cell mounted on the roof of AHS. They will not come on until it is dark enough for the photo cell to release them, then they will go off at approximately midnight. Since it is still quite light at 7:00 p.m. where the photo cell is mounted, it is not releasing them as yet. This same photo cell also operates the parking lot lights. We recently have a problem with the photo cell that required its replacement. It seems that rain had gotten in it and sometimes the lights were not coming on at all. As the daylight lessens, we will continue to monitor this to make sure all lighting is coming on at the appropriate time and make any adjustments needed. As far as giving you a definite time frame, I am afraid I am unable to do so as we try to control our lighting in such a manner that we minimize our energy usage while at the same time providing adequate lighting as needed by AISD and CCCC employees and also to the public that uses our tennis courts. I will have the night manager monitor the tennis courts the next couple of weeks to determine if anything needs to be adjusted. Of course, since the photo cell will be in daylight a little longer than the tennis courts, it may not release them as early as some may wish.
