Nashville Hiking Meetup - the social network of hikers and eco-volunteers

September 21, 2011

It's back! Good karma and good times!

Join us to make a huge difference at the largest water cleanup in Nashville History! We're back after historic rains forced the cancellation of two consecutive projects and brought extraordinary trash and debris to the J. Percy Priest Lake area.

This is your chance to help Mother Nature out. Our September 24 event will saturate the lake with an ambitious three-fold mission:

  1. Lower lake locations (where campers and fishermen are trashing the environment);
  2. Upper lake locations (where two islands in particular have significant deposits of flood water debris);
  3. Public lands project (a scouring of grounds surrounding the lake where people of all backgrounds think it's okay to dump household fixtures, broken appliances and other junk).

We'll have trash bags, gloves and sunscreen for you… we'll have snacks, hand sanitizer, T-shirts and giveaways. All we really need now is YOU. So grab a buddy or simply your service-oriented smiling self and join us at Nashville's largest water cleanup in history: The Nashville Clean Water Project.
