Palo Alto Area Pagan Resources By Valerie Voigt The Pagan community here is large, eclectic, and rather quiet (compared to, say, San Francisco or Berkeley). There are zillions of solitaries, covens, and semi-covens in the area. Many of these are findable through online search, meeting at large Pagan-friendly events, or through referrals. Ducklings Pagan Lunch Bunch meets every Tuesday around 12:30 at Hobee's Palo Alto (http://hobees.com/paloalto.html). No RSVP required: just show up and look for the table with the rubber duck on it (typically in the back room). Or just ask the staff where the Duck Table is! It's a drop-in group: people arrive anytime between noon and 3, but usually most people leave by around 3 (though some have stayed until 4 sometimes). http://fullcircleevents.org/ lists local Pagan and Pagan-friendly events--a wonderful resource. They themselves sponsor Pagan bowling nights and so on. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bapagan-announce/ is an email announcement (no discussion) list for Pagan events. So is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SFBayAreaPagans/ . http://groups.yahoo.com/group/San_Jose_Pagan_Power_Social/ is a Pagan social group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SanJoseCaWiccans/ exists, but doesn't seem to be active. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SouthbayGoddessTemple/ is an "interTraditional" type group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Temple_of_Inanna_and_Dumuzi/ (non-Wiccan, Sumerian/Mesopotamian-oriented) MeetUp is an organization that helps likeminded folks get together. They help organize coffee-house-type-moots. You just go to the relevant website and give your zip code. Pagan-related Meetups with members in the Bay Area include: http://pagan.meetup.com/1073/ (This is the Palo Alto one, which I organize.) http://magickal.meetup.com/374/ (This is the San Jose group, a large, active, friendly crowd.) http://paganparenting.meetup.com/ http://paganhomeschool.meetup.com/ http://pagan.meetup.com/ http://witches.meetup.com/ http://magickal.meetup.com/ http://shamanism.meetup.com/ http://asatru.meetup.com/ http://druid.meetup.com/ http://Gaiaism.meetup.com/ http://goddess.meetup.com/ http://occult.meetup.com/ These are the ones I know about--there are probably more. These are great places to must meet folks, find likeminded others to form study groups, etc. I've been to some of these meetings and had a great time. My schedule doesn't often allow me to go to these, but when I have gone, I've always had a great time. Also in the South Bay is a festival organization, South Bay Circles (http://www.southbaycircles.org/). SBC Sabbats are good places to meet people from various different covens.
