Give A Child Hope – Shoebox GIFT IDEAS
Thanks for helping us collect items and money for this worthwhile cause!!! If you can’t attend the event, but still wish to participate – then please see the list of items below that we need for donation. If you just want to donate money to help with shipping fees that will be awesome too. We will post information of where you can send monies to in a separate email. 
I will add more ideas on gifts as they come to mind. Have slightly altered this list from what the organization posted on their website as it included items that required small batteries. In my opinion, most (if not all) of these children can not afford replacement batteries and since they are not environment friendly – I think we should pass on items such as these. 
Additionally, given the fact that these boxes are going to India, typical cold weather items such as ear muffs, gloves, etc., probably should be passed over for warmer climate options.
TOYS 
small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, chinese jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, Slinky®, musical items and toys requiring thinking skills (although keep in mind that they should be ones that don’t rely on the child knowing English,) etc.. 

SCHOOL SUPPLIES 
pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc. 

HYGIENE ITEMS 
toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc. 

OTHER 
T-shirts, socks, ball caps; sunglasses, hair clips, toy/costume jewelry, durable art supplies, craft supplies, Hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum,

A PERSONAL NOTE 
In a separate envelope, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. 

DO NOT INCLUDE: 
Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans 
MISC
Shoe boxes – plastic or regular, wrapping paper, stickers, etc.
