Political voice will be heard Published: August 22. 2007 10:10PM It is sad that so many people are afraid to vote for whom they really want to be nominated and elected president. Everyone is so worried about being associated with the favored candidate. Why aren't we all voting the way our hearts and minds tell us to, instead of playing "follow the leader." I have heard many people say they like what Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul stands for and says, but he'll never win, so they are voting for one of the "top tier" candidates just to ensure the GOP stays in the White House. Well, I have to say that, for many years now, the party lines have been blurred considerably. I am proud to say that I will vote for Ron Paul in the primary, and if he doesn't make the nomination, I will either write him in or request an absentee ballot. I am no longer willing to allow someone else to decide for me, be it other politicians, the news media, family, etc. I have children, and it has become too important to their future to squander the opportunity to have my seemingly insignificant voice heard.
